After about of week of letting the tank sit in the garage (not because I wanted to wait that long…) I finally started riveting the ribs to the tank skins.  Having it riveted right after applying the sealant, and now riveting after the seal has set for a while, I’d suggest riveting directly after applying the sealant.  The already set sealant that covers the holes for the rivets just gets in the way.  Also, be sure to apply sealant to the shop heads of any rivets in the stiffeners before you insert the ribs.  It is a LOT easier to see the shop heads when the skin is “open”.  I had to use a mirror and spend a lot more time than I would have liked making sure the rivets are all covered in sealant.
