At $75 a pint (Aircraft Spruce), proseal is some expensive stuff. I had purchased a pint back in December in preparation for glueing the rudder trailing edge. Come to find out, Vans sells the stuff in much smaller quantities. In talking to Bill (a fellow RV-10 builder), we decided to try doing the trailing edge steps at the same time, that way not wasting any more of the proseal than was necessary. I think it worked out pretty good. The stuff is extremely messy, and thankfully I read up on how other builders did theirs. Paper plates and popsicle sticks are the way to go! Now it is time to wait until the stuff dries and see just how good we did :-). Note: In the pictures below, the pictures of the rudder with the vinyl removed around the rivet locations is mine. The pictures of the inside of the rudder (grey primer) are of Bill’s rudder.

Just after Bill left, John arrived to see the progress being made. He helped me finish drilling the remaining holes between the bottom side skins and the longerons. We made pretty good progress. It would have taken me a lot longer by myself.
